IMPORTANT note for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: ALL EMHCs - regulars, subs, VEMs - MUST attend a diocesan retraining to continue distributing the sacrament at the beginning of 2010. The retraining for current ministers is now completed in the Akron area. Fall 2010 will be the next available retraining as well as training for new ministers.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) distribute the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. In addition, they minister to shut-ins, hospitals, convalescent homes and senior citizen facilities.
EMHCs are always needed on Holy Days of Obligation. Typically, the Vigil Mass is at 6:00PM, morning Mass at 9:00AM and Evening Mass at 6:00PM (please check the bulletin for exact times). Plan to arrive a little early for Mass on Holy Days and sign in to help distribute.
