Father's Bulletin Letter 4.13.2025

Apr 10, 2025

Greetings,
Blessings to you as we celebrate Passion Sunday. The statues are covered in the church, and we have begun using the preface for the Passion. The Tomb Scene is in the Padre Pio Chapel, and you are invited to visit, write a prayer on a slip of paper and stick it into the “stonework” of the tomb, not unlike what is done at the wailing wall in the Holy Land.

This week begins Holy Week, the most revered week of the year in which we recall the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord. Please review the Mass and service times listed below:

OFFICE CLOSED FOR EASTER: The parish offices will be closed on Friday, April 18 and reopen Easter Tuesday, April 22.

GOING TO THE HOSPITAL?: If you or a loved one ends up in the hospital, please inform the hospital upon checking in that you are a Catholic and would like to see a priest. They are not allowed to ask or inform us that you are there. Further, there are priests assigned to the hospital. They can get to you far more quickly than most parish priests can. Last week we discovered that there was a glitch with our phones, which could have been spiritually tragic. Take advantage of the assurance of a visit by informing the hospital of your need and they will arrange it for you.

RANKIN SCHOOL: I’ve enjoyed some of your stories about Rankin Elementary School. Apparently, many of those who went through St. Sebastian Parish School also attended kindergarten there since that grade did not yet exist at our school.

God bless,
Fr. Valencheck
