Father's Bulletin Letter 4.20.25

Apr 20, 2025

Greetings!

He is risen!

He is risen indeed!

Happy Easter to all! If you are visiting St. Sebastian Parish for these holy days, welcome! May your visit bring you many blessings as you bring us blessings by being here. If you are looking for a spiritual home and St. Sebastian Parish could fulfill that need for you, you are invited to be among the family here. If you are Catholic, you may register in person at the parish office during office hours or online. If you are not Catholic and want more information about becoming Catholic, speak to one of the priests or call the parish main line (330) 836-2233 and ask for Mr. Keith Johnson.

For those coming home for Easter, particularly our college students and seminarians, it is great to see your faces again! And what a blessing it is to celebrate the most Holy Week of the year with all of you who show up regularly at your parish to bring glory to God and benefit to his sons and daughters around us. Fr. Marcelli and I both speak regularly about how fortunate we feel to be your priests.

IN OTHER NEWS:

SPECIAL WELCOME: Twelve people were to be brought into the Church at the Easter Vigil this year! We are so blessed to have them among us. These are the people for whom we have been praying all year.

Those who were baptized in the faith are: Rachael Brady, Seth Eggenschwiler, Sebastian Hale, Isabella Ingraham, Vincent McGreal & Delaney Rush.

Those who were brought into full communion with the Church are: Christopher Conrad, Allona Henderson, Thomas Henderson, Leeanne Liccardi, Michael Magee & Michael Miller.

Please keep them in your prayers as they inspire us and become accustomed to their status as fully initiated members of the Catholic Church. Many blessings to you! Also, welcome home to our seminarians who are assisting us for Holy Week/Easter Week: Christopher Villareal and John Scantling. Congratulations particularly to Deacon Cameron Ferrell and Deacon Joseph Ho who lived and worked at St. Sebastian and were ordained this past Saturday.

DIVINE MERCY: Next weekend is Divine Mercy Sunday. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed following all the weekend Masses.

OFFICES CLOSED: The parish offices will be closed through Easter Monday. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 22 of Easter Week.

MEN’S BREAKFAST SPECIAL INVITATION: All the men of the parish (and their buddies) are invited to a special Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, April 26 following the morning Mass. A hot breakfast will be followed by a fascinating presentation on the Shroud of Turin. Free.

WORK AROUND THE PARISH: Possibly beginning this week there will be work taking place around the parish depending on weather and other factors. Repairs to the Mull Avenue Zwisler Hall facade is first on the docket and, if all works out well, the equipment will move down to the church to clean the black streaks off the facade there. The Diocese just approved major campus improvement jobs for this summer. There will be a couple of new roofs, window repairs, and updating our fire and alarm systems. More on that when it comes!

God bless,

Fr. Valencheck
