He Is Risen!

He Is Risen Indeed!

Easter blessings to one and all, especially to our guests visiting during this holy celebration. May you find your visit at this parish fruitful and fulfilling. To those who are “home for the holidays,” especially our students, it is wonderful to see your faces. And for the faithful who are here week after week, what a joy it is to celebrate this Easter Day with you. Know of my prayers.

IN OTHER NEWS:

OFFICES CLOSED: The parish offices will be closed Friday, April 7 through Monday, April 10. Regular office hours will resume on Easter Tuesday, April 11 at 8:30am.

OPERATION RICE BOWL: If you have not yet turned your bowl in, bring it to church next weekend or to the parish offices during business hours.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed after each of the Masses. To receive the graces of the plenary indulgence on Divine Mercy Sunday, Catholics must fulfill three conditions, with the intention of fulfilling them as soon as possible: sacramental confession, Holy Communion and prayers for the intentions of the pope.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS: We have been informed that the surface replacement of Mull Avenue will begin on Easter Monday. This means that Mull Avenue will be completely closed. If you have a child in our parish school, please make sure to read the information sent out by the school concerning new patterns for student pick up and drop off.

For those coming to the parish campus for any reason, we have been told that either the Elmdale or Greenwood cross streets will always be open allowing access to the church lot. If you are approaching the parish from the east, please be aware.

At the same time, if things move forward as we anticipate, the brick service drive in our school courtyard should also be in the process of being replaced beginning April 7. During the week, our campus will essentially be cut in two! But on the weekend, the sidewalks between the brick parking lot and the church should be intact and free from obstacles. There should not be a problem parking in the brick parking lot and making your way to the church. It is anticipated that this project will last two weeks and cause minimal disturbance to our parish life. All of this of course is weather permitting.

During the week, if you are coming to church or to the offices, please park in the church parking lot. There is additional parking throughout our neighborhood on the south side of the church.

On the weekend, there should be plenty of parking if we utilize our church parking lot, our neighborhood streets and the brick parking lot. If the weather is nice and you live close by, consider walking to Mass.

Just remember, keep saying to yourself, we are going to be SO HAPPY when this is done! In the meantime, keep your parish in your prayers particularly as we celebrate our Risen Lord!

God bless,

Fr. Valencheck
