Father's Bulletin Letter 7.10.21
Jul 07, 2022
Greetings,
I am writing to you from Bloomingdale, New York, where my sister lives up in the Adirondacks. It is Independence Day and quiet in the woods. I will see you this weekend however. I’ll be home for a week and then gone for one more week, Monday through Friday, for a priest conference, fulfilling my continuing education requirements for the year.
It may be a bit difficult to be in contact this month. Phone and computer connections are difficult and spotty. Apologies for that, and I hope to get caught up on things in the near future.
IN OTHER NEWS:
JAZZ & WINE FESTIVAL: This coming Thursday, July 14, is our annual Brick Street Jazz and Wine Festival. Come one! Come all! It is always a cool evening below the mighty oaks of the courtyard, beautiful with the strung, soft lights of the evening, delicious eating, delightful wine, some prizes and of course great music. Music this year will be supplied by Syx Bryx from 5:00-6:45pm and the Whirlybirds from 7:00-9:00pm. See bulletin or website for more details.
MORE EVENTS IN JULY:
SUMMER FESTIVAL: Thank you to our wonderful volunteers in our Sanctuary Society who are planning a parish Summer Festival! On Saturday, July 30, from 5:00-8:00pm (so right after 4:30pm Mass) there will be an honest to goodness, old fashioned parish gathering with hamburgers and hotdogs, raffles and games.
It is hoped that this will build up into a popular parish event so that by the time we make it to our 100th anniversary, it will be a key event in place to really help us celebrate. Our parish centennial celebration will be coming up in 2028.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: The week of July 25 will be our annual summer VBS! The cost is just $10, with each additional family member just $5 more. The whole week can be free for children who have an adult who volunteers the whole week. For more information, see the bulletin, our website or call the parish office.
God bless,
Fr. Valencheck
