Parish Council Nominations

Feb 16, 2023

PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS: Parish Council Seeking Nominations Parish council is looking to discern and elect four (4) new council members to serve a term of three (3) years. Parish Council serves as an advisory committee for Fr. Valencheck, providing him with feedback about the state of the parish. Council also represents parishioners, bringing their concerns or questions to Fr. Valencheck and the rest of Council. This works best when the 12 members of Parish Council reflect the membership of the parish. For example, we try to have council members who attend the 4:30pm (Saturday), and the 9:00am (Sunday), the 11:00am (Sunday), and the 1:00pm (Sunday) Masses to ensure that all the Masses are represented. We also try to ensure that those from various stages of life are represented on Council and that we have a mix of men and women.

Council members must be available to attend monthly meetings lasting approximately one hour starting July 1. You may serve again if you have not completed a term of eighteen (18) months or more in the previous three (3) years. To nominate yourself or someone you know, complete the nomination form available in the church and place in the collection basket or submit it to the rectory by March 15, 2023.

You may also nominate someone by emailing CouncilP@stsebastian.org- with the nominee’s name, phone number and email. Interested candidates will be contacted by members of Parish Council in early April and asked to complete and return a questionnaire. They will be interviewed after Easter.

If you have any questions, please contact a Parish Council member listed at https://www.stsebastian.org/church/parish-council.
