Next weekend we kick off our Annual Eucharistic Devotions following the 11:00am Sunday Mass. Adoration will continue following Mass and around the clock until the 8:00pm closing on Tuesday night. It would be most fitting to have three or four adorers signed up for each hour so that we are assured that someone is in attendance while Our Lord is exposed on the altar. Sign-up sheets to adopt hours are on the altar rail by the Blessed Virgin Mary statue or you can sign up electronically.

Each night at 7:00pm there will be a prayer service. The last night will be the closing of devotions. Our most needed coverage (as it is all through the year) is around dinner time hours. If you are free and wondering which hours you would like to adopt, please consider the 4pm - 7pm hours. If you cannot adopt a whole hour, stop by for as long as you can and as often as you can over these three days. This is our opportunity to adore Him, give thanks to Him and to ask for His continued blessing upon our community. One does not have to have an agenda to come before Him. You might have something about which you want to meditate, or pray the Rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours or some such devotional, but it is also great just to come and be with Him as you would a friend. Thank you for always being so attentive to the success of our devotions.

CONCERT TODAY: This Sunday there will be a concert in the Church. Harpist Kirk Kupensky will be presenting a concert of classical music at 4:00pm. The concert is free and open to the public. As always, these concerts are an ideal and economic way to introduce your child to the fine arts. They can become familiar with classical pieces (as I did on Bugs Bunny) and learn how to behave when attending a formal concert. And if a child has reached a limit, it is easy to leave without regretting the price of the ticket. I hope to see you there!

WELCOME BACK PSR STUDENTS! Our Parish School of Religion begins today (Sunday). It is wonderful to have you back in the classroom! Many blessings to you!

ALPHA BEGINS THURSDAY: Alpha is a dinner and movie night followed by discussion. Alpha explores the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?”, and “How does God guide us?” See elsewhere in the bulletin or our website for more information.

COMMUNITY: Most of you are aware of the tragic death of one of our community members. Sebastian Johnson, six years of age, passed away last week. It was (and is) a heart-breaking occurrence but it is often these unfortunate events that also can reveal the strength and love of a community. The outpouring of concern for the family and all who were involved has been a beautiful thing to witness. There have been other sadnesses in our parish family lately and the outreach of brothers and sisters in the faith is so inspiring. Thank you for all that you do and continue to pray for those in distress in our community.
