Girls Cross Country Team Wins State Runner-Up
Oct 29, 2019
St. sebastian Parish's cross country team was on fire this year! The 6th-8th grade girls team were regular season champions, winning all but one of their meets and recording two first-place finishes by individual runners. The 3rd-5th grade girls team won 4 of their 7 meets (winning 2nd place in the rest), and also recorded two first-place individual finishes. the 3rd-5th grade boys team finished in 3rd or 4th place in five of their meets, and the 6th-8th grade boys team took 3rd place for the season.
At the Oct. 13 Diocesan Championship at Edgewater Park, the 6th-8th grade girls team won 2nd-place, which is the highest finish ever achieved by our school and the only time a team from Summit County has earned a medal in the championship! And one week later, at the Oct. 20 state middle school meet, St. Sebastian won the state runner up trophy for the second year in a row in the girls Division 3 race, with our team’s top five runners finishing in the top 25 out of 126 runners. Way to go, Terrier athletes!
