Altar Server Training

New Altar Server Training will be held in the church on Monday, September 21, from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.  Interested children in 5th or 6th grade are invited to attend.

Confirmation

Confirmation formation begins Monday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m. in the church.  All those planning to be confirmed in the spring must attend with a parent or sponsor.  Masks and social distancing are required.  For those uncomfortable with being out, or those unable to attend, the meeting will be live streamed on the parish YouTube channel.  Contact Keith Johnson for more information at johnsonk@stsebastian.org or 330-836-2233 ext. 134.

PSR

Please note the following adjustments to PSR registration:  We are still planning to offer in person PSR instruction in the school as we have in previous years.  COVID-19 guidelines will be strictly observed in order to maximize the safety of all who are involved.  In addition, we will offer a virtual option for those who are uncomfortable with in person instruction or unable to attend.  Because of ongoing evaluation and to properly prepare for the upcoming academic year, the start date for PSR has been moved back to October 4.  More information will be forthcoming.  To register, please visit our website to download a registration form and turn in with payment at the rectory.  For more information contact Cinnamon Chivers at psr@stsebastian.org.

Youth Ministry

High School Youth Ministry

Sept. 8- Youth Night, 7:00-8:30 p.m. - Come kick off the school year with our opening Youth Night.  We will meet outside of Byrider Hall near the garden in the back.  If raining we will meet in the youth room at Byrider Hall. Plan to join us and bring a friend.

Sept. 13-15- Eucharistic Devotions.  Watch for more details

Sept. 22- Youth Night, 7:00-8:30, Byrider Hall

Sept. 28- Bonfire, 5:30-8:00.  Watch for more details.

Sept. 29- St. Bernard Meal, 3:00-6:00 p.m.  We’re looking for a few good young men and women to help serve a boxed meal at St. Bernard in Akron.  See Mr. Johnson for more details.

Junior High Youth Ministry

Sept. 20- Jr. High Youth Night, 6:30-8:00 p.m. - Jr. High Youth Ministry returns with our beginning of the school year bonfire.  Meet in the back field of Byrider Hall near the garden.  Parents are invited to attend as well.

Sept. 28- Confirmation Meeting, 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the church. 

Please note:  COVID-19 guidelines issued from the diocese must be strictly observed at all youth meetings/activities, even if taking place outside.  These guidelines include staying home if you feel you may be sick or coming down with something, hand washing/sanitizing, social distancing, and the wearing of a mask.

Young Adult Bible Study

Young adults of St. Sebastian Parish: you are invited to join in a weekly Bible study! This study will be a time of fellowship and growing together in the written word of God. No supplemental materials are needed to join. Our goal is to read together, allowing the truths of the scriptures to reveal themselves to us and reflect upon them as we go.

The study will begin Monday, September 21, and will go from 7:00-8:30. We will meet in the Meeting Room in the church basement. Please wear a mask and be prepared to create appropriate physical distance with other participants.
