My vast career as an artist has grown and evolved to include the importance of art education, of which I’ve been a contributor for over 20 years. My educational experience includes earning an MA from Case Western Reserve University, BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and PhD from Akamia University.
My art education has brought me into many art educational settings. From developing art programs for Medina Metropolitan Parks, Art in Action in libraries, garden clubs presentations and to home educators.I developed programs for Wayne Center for the Arts for the children at risk and for the gifted children. I also taught adults at the Wayne Center for the arts. Programming development also took me to Progressive Art Alliance where I created Stem murals in the inner city of Cleveland.
I am currently teaching at St. Sebastian's school (K-8). I have taught all grade levels which includes St. Christopher’s School (K-8), Lady Island Middle School, and Strom Thurmond and May River High School. All ages embrace the explorations of the arts.
As an artist my main art medium is enameling. I have exhibited my artwork since I was in high school. I have continued to do gallery work. Galleries include, River Gallery, Akron Women's Club Gallery, Spaces Gallery, Art for the Living Gallery, Elements Gallery to name a few. My enamels also have been on display in the Cleveland Museum of Art and the White House Christmas tree. Many of my works are in private collections nationally and internationally.
To me art is an adventure of seeing the beauty in life. Learning about oneself and sharing the art explorations with others. Nothing makes me happier than these connections.
I'm pleased you are part of my art journey.
