Paula Welch
Paula Welch grew up in Parma Heights, Ohio and currently resides in Cuyahoga Falls. She has worked in health care since 2004 primarily as a registered nurse serving many people of all ages dealing with mental health issues and addiction.
Paula fell into Art as a fluke. As she was searching for art to add to her newly-remodled home, she come across a piece that interested her, but was beyond her means to purchase. She decided that she would try to replicate this piece--or something like it-- by doing it herself; thus began her journey into Art! While selling items from her home, a woman viewed and purchased three of her recently created paintings. Paula also discovered that creating art through painting was a great way to relieve the day-to-day stresses that we all experience. Much of her work was done during the height of the Corona Virus Pandemic, with more than 100 works in acrylics and oils completed over that period. This was a time of stress for everyone, including a mental health nurse, and she found her refuge of inner peace while creating with canvas and paints. Paula is now incorporating painting as one of many practices she teaches her clients to help them stay in the moment and stop the constant chatter in their minds. She continues to search for more ways to reach others in the community and wishes to open this avenue toward finding inner peace with her students via painting classes.
