Soccer at St. Sebastian 

STARS Soccer: Grades Pre-K and K (Fall and Spring)

What is it? STARS Soccer is a program where we teach kids the fundamentals of soccer which will create a foundation to excel at the sport in a fun and creative environment. Teams are coaches by parent volunteers and parents are asked to be available to help.

How much does it cost? $25 per player

Uniform: Shin guards and a #3 ball are required, cleats are optional. A team t -shirt will be provided.

How many practices are there? Practices run for 6 weeks and meet twice per week at the St Sebastian playground field.

You may choose either:

1) Wednesday at 6pm & Saturday at 9am

Or

2) Thursday at 6pm and Saturday at 10am.

How many games can I expect?

Since the children are just starting to learn the sport, there are no games against other schools. However, during practices, we will have the kids scrimmage against each other in a safe and organized manner.

Start dates are typically late August for Fall and late April for Spring. Registration usually opens about 8 weeks before each season and will be closed once rosters are full.

DD Soccer: Grades 1 & 2 – (Spring Only)

What is it? DD Soccer is an organized league that allows your children to play against other teams from local Catholic Schools in a friendly, developmental format. Game scores are not tracked. It is an organized way of letting the kids learn what it is like to play in a game setting without the pressure of winning or losing. Teams are coaches by parent volunteers and parents are asked to be available to help.

How much does it cost? $35 per player

Uniform: Shin guards, cleats and a #3 ball are required. A team t -shirt will be provided.

How many practices are there? Typically there are 1-2 practices a week. The day of practice is decided on by the volunteer coach who will contact you with team specific details: such as practice dates/times and game schedules.

How many games can I expect? The season runs for 6 weeks with games scheduled on Saturday mornings between the hours of 9 am to Noon. All games take place at the Fairlawn Soccer Fields on Ridgewood Road.

Games begin in late April for Spring. Practice may begin 2 weeks before the first game and registration opens mid-February.

CYO Soccer: Grades 1-8  (Fall ONLY)

What is it? CYO Soccer is an organized league that allows your children to play against other CYO schools. This is a Fall Sport Only. There is no Spring CYO Soccer. Leagues are organized by grades, typically: 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8. Leagues are also boys or girls, except 1&2, which is co-ed.

How much does it cost? Registration: $100

Uniform: Team shirt is provided. Each player should provide their own black shorts, soccer socks, shin guards, cleats and practice ball. Grades 1-6 use a size 4 ball. Grades 7-8 use a size 5 ball.

How many practices are there? Typically there are 2 practices a week. The day of practice is decided on by the volunteer coach who will contact you with team specific details: such as practice dates/times and game schedules.

How many games can I expect? Soccer season is typically 8-10 weeks long with games occurring on Saturday and Sunday.
